Today: Thursday, 19 Muharram 1446 AH, corresponding to July 25, 2024

Under the patronage of His Excellency the University President, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Tariq, the leadership of Al-Dhali' University held a protest to condemn the brutal Zionist aggression against our country, which targeted civilian, economic, and service facilities in Al-Hudaydah Governorate. During the protest, which was attended by Major General Abdul Latif Al-Shaghdiri, His Excellency the University President delivered a speech condemning the brutal aggression perpetrated by the Zionist enemy's air force on Saturday, 14 Muharram 1446 AH, corresponding to July 20, 2024, targeting oil tanks, the power station, and the port of Al-Hudaydah. This aggression constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and a crime that exposes the criminality of the Zionist entity and its violation of all international laws and conventions. The aggression resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of citizens.

Dr. Al-Tariq added that this aggression will only increase the Yemeni people's resolve, steadfastness, and continued commitment to their position on the Palestinian cause.

For his part, Major General Al-Shaghdiri, Governor of Al-Dhali', affirmed that the Yemeni people have absolute and unwavering confidence in the wisdom and courage of the Yemeni leadership and armed forces in achieving a response and deterrence against the Israeli enemy's aggression. He emphasized that Yemen, both its leadership and people, stands united behind the Yemeni leadership and army in waging the open battle against the Israeli enemy. He also expressed his blessing and support for all the options taken by the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to support the Palestinian people and their resistance fighters in Gaza and all the occupied territories, and to confront the aggression against Yemen.

Furthermore, the university, in a statement issued during the rally and read by the university's Secretary-General, Professor Mu'in al-Bukhaiti, condemned the brutal Zionist aggression against civilian, economic, and service facilities in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, and the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians in a crime that violates all international and humanitarian norms and laws. The statement issued at the rally condemned the continued silence of international organizations, bodies, and the Security Council regarding the Israeli enemy entity's attacks on a sovereign state, without any expression of condemnation, denunciation, or steps to stop its brutal aggression.

The statement praised all the inevitable and upcoming military measures and responses being taken by the leadership, represented by the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, calling on all segments of the Yemeni people to mobilize and prepare to participate in the promised battle of liberation and holy jihad.

The statement emphasized that this aggression is part of the systematic targeting of Yemen by the Zionist-American enemy and its proxies, aimed at deterring it from its supportive stance towards the Palestinian people and the just Palestinian cause. This will not succeed, as the goal is to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people and dissuade the Republic of Yemen from its principled position of supporting the Palestinian cause. The statement affirmed that this will only strengthen the Yemeni people's resolve to continue their support for the Palestinian people. The university's vice presidents, deans of colleges, teaching and administrative staff, the university student forum, and a large number of university students participated in the vigil.
